Marlo received the Dean’s Scholarship her senior year at Southeastern Louisiana University

She was also Class President her senior year

During her junior year at S.L.U., she led a student rally on campus that gained media attention across the state that saved the Nursing program from extinction

Association of Radiology and Imaging Nurses, Golden Gate Chapter President for 3 years, member of the Board of Directors for ten years, National Planning Committee for one year. She has helped organize an annual symposium for ARIN, Golden Gate Chapter, for the past ten years

Operation Access Volunteer- provides surgeries and procedure to those whom are un-insured 3 tours

Proud Member of the California Nurses Association (Nursing Labor Union) supported the CNA in several healthcare bills in the state of California, such as S.B. 562, in which the nurses support and oppose Bill's that would impact patient care and safety.

Marlo has helped shape policies regarding safe patient care through advocating and working with management, compliance and Patient Practice Council at her hospital

No Coal Oakland- Marlo attended rally and city council meetingsto prevent the movement of coal through our community

Alameda Food Bank collected barrels for the hospital

Donations to Asian Women’s shelter and BAWAR (Bay Area Women Against Rape)
